Ouch! Must feel good to have that all back in order. What did you use as your trick to bust the giant bearing nut? Assuming it was as rusted on as mine were.

I'll have to wash it and see what it looks like. It's pretty crusty where the springs sit. Eventually I'd use POR-15 or something similar. The axle needs inner axle seals also.

I had it apart years ago and anti seized it then. It was pretty rusty again, but I recently bought a Matco 1/2" impact with 1300 ft/lbs of torque. It's AWESOME!

I put anti seize on the 3 bolts, the outside of the wheel bearing(where it goes into the knuckle), the threads and splines of the axle shaft, and on the wheel studs.

We haven't been able to use it much for the last year because of the transmission, so yeah it's nice to have it back working again. We were just getting used to using it again when the u-joint came apart. It's good enough to go to town, but needs rear brakes, shocks, and probably the right side bearing and u-joint.

Well the old Dodge has been running really good. I don't think we've done anything except drive it since we fixed the axle shaft. I am planning on fixing the plenum/ water pump/ timing chain. I'm thinking of doing the kegger mod also. Is there anything else I can or should do while I'm this far? It's around the 150,000 mile mark IIRC. Oil pump?

If you don't have oil pressure problems, or leaks around the pan, don't worry about it.

If you want a nice little bump in power, and have the cash to spend, dong the Harland Sharp 1.7 ratio rockers would be fun.

That's everyones complaint, it's not very peppy. It's a 95, will the rockers help without some sort of chip for the ECM?

Eventually I would like electric fans, shorty headers, and a dual exhaust. The 1.7 rockers or a cam are on the wish list. It needs rear brakes, shocks, and sway bar links.

Yup. Rockers just open the valves a bit further, and increases duration at .050. Makes the engine think the cam is bigger than it really is. PCM will adjust accordingly.

Hauled some hogs after I replaced the mirror.

Finally replaced the mirror. Didn't fit quite as close to the cab as the original and the mounting screws were 1/4" fine thread instead of metric.

It's nice to have both side mirrors, isn't it? I guess I got lucky with mine when I replaced them. I went with the 1998+ style, different wiring, but fit great.
