You running a nv4500?

Oh and hell yeah man that thing looks sweet sitting there under the hood. I had a friend that said all those extra bolts and things are just things the engineers didn't really need to begin with haha.

Thanks Yes, it's an NV 4500. Made out like a bandit when I did the body swap a couple years ago. Went from a 1500 with an auto and 3.55 gears to a 2500 with the 5 speed and 4.10 gears.

Me too man. This thing has been a pain, but it should be worth it. I'll get a video of first fire for sure, even if it is just 5 minutes of it screaming (or stuttering) at 2500 rpms. Lol.

Now for a nap before I screw something else up. Getting up at 1 am for work sucks, at least until quitting time.

IT RUUUUNNNNNNSS. We were too busy looking for leaks and such to get a video of start up, but I'll get one up soon. It fired off before the first full revolution and just purred. 2500 rpm for about 30 minutes, temp settled in at about 200, oil pressure stayed at about 75 psi. Nice and smooth. Now to start the driving break in.

Great news indeed... it must be very satisfying to have it burst into life without a hiccup.
Now we're all hanging for the video.

Frankie is going to have a very well-deserved smile plastered on his face for a few days.

Congrats man. The flyin' ryan tune worked good right out of the box then?

I should have a video of it later this evening. It was very satisfying.

Non stop grin. I don't have the tune yet. I just started it on the hemifever 91 can tune for the 360. I'm still surprised at how well it's doing. (More on this further down).

I'm glad.

So, I took it on its maiden voyage today for a parts run. My parts store is 14 miles away, so I figured it would be a good point to run to then do another oil change (I did one yesterday after first fire).
Good news is it runs great and pulls hard without even trying. On a small hill I've always had to downshift on, I hit the bottom at about 45 mph in 5th and hit the top doing 80 without breaking half throttle. It's crazy how hard this thing pulls.
Bad news; Sounds like it's hitting the Rev limiter at 3000 rpms, and throwing a code for intermittent ckp/cmp signal loss. I'm going to change both back to the ones I pulled out of the last motor and see what happens. It is also going through the other sensors one at a time saying high voltage. It started with the IAT, and now the map sensor. I'm curious to see what is next.

Another awesome thing... Dakota Digital universal speedo box. 4 wires and I now have a functioning speedo. Simple setup and great customer support. If you're changing gears, tires, or a body/ drivetrain swap like I did, this thing is priceless. I hooked it up like the support tech said, and the pressed a little button until the speedo read the same as the gps on my phone. Perfect timing for tracking this new motor.

Are your new sensors OEM of aftermarket?... aftermarket sensors seem to be hit or miss if you get a decent one, and longevity is questionable.
Maybe a little contact grease on the connector terminals?

I'm following you closely, cheering you on, as I have a 390 build somewhere in my future.
