390 installed
I'm just looking for a V-10 truck.
Gas mileage isn't all that much of an issue, as I don't really drive all that far..... 50 bucks worth of gas in my truck pretty much lasts me all month.

18 years ago I would have agreed... today I'm content with 15mpg.
Of course I'd like better, but I don't think that is likely, especially since I'm going to be heading the 390 route in the future.
If I can get close to 300hp/350tq and keep around 14mpg I would be happy.

Keep us posted.
Little update after 6000 miles. It's been running good but recently developed a intermittent vacuum issue. When coming to a stop, idle drops/vacuum drops and engine stalls....but not always. I ran a smoke test, but didn't find anything. Next day off I'm going to run a couple of tests to see if the brake booster check valve is going south on me plus check the torque on the intake manifold and throttle body. Any other pointers will be greatly appreciated. :-)
If it's not (or not likely) the IAC and your base tables are properly set up for the additional displacement so there's no risk of running dangerously lean, you can just unplug the pre-cat oxygen sensor for a couple of days of otherwise normal driving to see if the symptom stays away. If you can do that and the symptom stays away, a fresh O2 sensor should fix ya right up.
If the problem is more prevalent when atmospheric humidity is relatively high, take a look at the IAC.

I have NGK O2 sensors which are about a year old. Any recommendations on a different manufacturer? I know to stay away from Bosch.
thx
BTW, I replaced the IAC a couple of days ago with a new Mopar unit. I have new Mopar Throttle Position and Mass Air sensors on order. The current sensors are factory original, so it can't hurt to replace them. I replaced the other sensors when I put everything back together last June. Didn't give the sensors on the throttle body a second look. Probably should have.. LOL
It's curious that you're not seeing a ready state, though. The PCM should be stuck in open loop, so ignoring the sensor's signal...
