They said the input shaft was hooked up not dead center. The gear box is indexed so I could only put it on one way and with the passenger side tire straight, the steering wheel is straight. I have an equal amount of steering wheel revolutions in both directions. I KNOW I didn't do anything wrong..OH WELL. I guess they lost another customer. I'll try and hit up a different shop. The new one I picked out has a Letter of Recommendation from the 59th MDW/CC (;

Ha! Forget going to shops!

Do your own alignment with string and tape measures. I fought alignment for years until I did my own. Hey, guess what!? I can my own better than any shop anywhere!

You did the install fine. It's idiot proof. With IFS, how hard can alignment be? Geez, are there ANY good shops anymore?????? I'm sorry for your pain.

So over the years, I had issues where if I was a bit heavy on the gas, the HVAC would change to defrost until I let off the gas. Now, it's stuck on only defrost. Do I need to follow the wild blend door fix or does my issue lie elsewhere?

If they don't switch at all, likely a broken vacuum line somewhere. Mine broke where it runs beside the a/c line, and was rubbing against the steel clip the keeps the line together.

Well to really revive this thread, I'm finally back in the states after my 4 year hiatus overseas. As one might imagine, she's starting to get a little rough, but it's mostly cosmetic. Just hit 200,000 miles and carried the wife, dogs, and most of my belongings that I left in the states from New England to my new place in OH. Frame is still clean, a few new dents thanks to my mother hitting it (ooof), clear coat is gone on the hood and top of the cab, starting to go on the driver side fender, headliner is peeling a bit on the leading edge by the cracked windshield, dash is cracked now, bedliner needs to be redone, rear bumper is mostly tape at this point, A/C needs to be addressed, and I still need to investigate the vacuum leak. Aside from all that though, truck runs like a top. No slipping, no weird sounds or ticks. I thought I would be looking at selling it but damn it's tough when she runs this good lmfao

Here's a pic for your viewing pleasure. Ordered a new rear bumper so I'll swap that out at some point. The tail lights I received from some company online for me to test out. I'm not sure how I feel about 'em but hey, they were free lol

Dayton area, Wright-Patterson AFB! New chrome bumper arrived as well as a leather wrap thing to sew over the steering wheel. I hope it'll be way better than just using cheap steering wheel covers.

Remind me, are you IN the Air Force???

While you are there, be SURE and check out the air and space museum on base. If you have kids, they will LOVE it.
