Default 99 46re dies in reverse

it sounds and appears to immediately run lean when put in reverse and it dies. when you are driving it feels like a miss at certain points when it is in overdrive it bucks sometimes

Any codes? Sometimes, those are signs of a dying crank sensor.

sometimes it will go in reverse at exact idle but if you give it any throttle at all it seems like it starts running very lean and immediately dies. when you put it in park or neutral it starts back up but you have the smell of raw gas and smoke for a couple of seconds

Does it always die in reverse? Does it stumble first, then die? Or is it like you just shut off the key?

Wonder if the shift linkage is pushing around a harness, or some such.

The truck cuts out for 3 o 4 seconds then dies I unplugged the big electronic feed and it still does it. I’m wondering if it is the TCC lock up and overdrive solenoid bad together

I also checked all the connections but nothing is rubbing or in the way of the linkage
