I agree I honestly just like the grill. I don't need no 12in touch screen radio
Agreed. For whatever reason, the manufacturers are making EVERYTHING electronic in some fashion. For a vehicle that I just want to WORK, it's counter-productive. Of course, this is nothing new. GM was doing the 'electronic shift' four wheel drive back in the 90s. The system sucked. Went from a lever that ALWAYS worked, to a system with a switch, controller (300 bucks), and the shift motor (another 300 bucks). None of which would last more than 30K miles...... and it seemed the only way to diagnose issues with the system was to throw parts at it. And now today, even the HVAC controls are computerized.......

I can pull on the expensive stick under most any conditions as well. Generally, it'll lock right in, even if I am stopped. If it doesn't, (when stopped) just turning the steering wheel back and forth a bit will convince it to engage. Unless, of course, I pull of into the snow bank for the plow truck to get by, and the moisture in the lines freezes....... so the cad simply doesn't work....... That was annoying.
You guys are funny. Check out Craigslist on the west coast. Anything Cummins commands crazy money. I just saw a 2nd gen on there today in Seattle area for 24k I $h!t you not. Can't ever find one under 15k even with 300k on it. If you can get a 2nd or 3rd gen for under 20k then buy it and flip it in WA, ID, or OR. You'll make a nice profit.
Well, Dodge would prefer you were under 55......

that's why I would never live in Michigan.
Let me clarify lol. What I meant was my 3rd gen 1500 I can pull the lever and instantly have 4wd without doing anything. My 2nd gens you either have to turn the wheel as HeyYou said or roll about a foot or less before the light comes on. Never heard of the lines freezing there kind of funny

At least it was an easy fix..... (once I got out of the snowbank....) Pulled it into the garage, pointed the torpedo heater under the truck, let it run for a hour, then blow out the lines with compressed air. Never had an issue with it again.
They don't have winter in PA?

never had anything freeze. Except on my 98 Dursngo it had a leaking heater core (happened in the summer) so I just kept adding water (that's free antifreeze isn't. I don't use distilled water I use tap the thing with lead in it lol). And forgot to add antifreeze in the winter so it froze. All I did was start it up rev it and drive as I drove it thawed and became a slushy (they cool is down so it should do it to an engine right
). Then eventually thawed completely
