97 1500 4x4 ext cab bought it when I was 16 with 32,000 miles onit and have litteraly beaten the hell out of it (remember when you were 16) I now have 264,000 miles. Things replaced after 120,000 miles are fuel pump, water pump radiator which was my own fault for not watching the thermostat and realizing it was stuck closed, and cat converter. Things replaced after 200,000 miles oil pump and rear seal which was precautionary, timing set, front wheel u-joints, Things after 250,000 was the tranny driveshaft u-joints, all tierod ends and balljoint, wheel bearings, and now I am getting ready to have the transfer case rebuilt, the steering box rebuilt, and trying to decide whether I want to rebuilt the top end or do a gear swap.

1996, 112k, 1 head gasket, a tranny rebuild, a right side ball joints. Never left me stranded though.

Hey guys!! I was wonderig...where is thelittle plastic bottle that supposed to bemounted on the front of the engine of the Ram 1500.This container catches oil blown out your crankcase vent tube and needs to be emptied every oil change or it runs over. A lot of fast lubes and independent garages don't empty this because they don't even know it is there.

I think you're talking about a CTD only item ... the 1500 never came with a diesel.
