I think 4.56 is the best compromise. Great for offroading and the street. I have 35" tires too with 4.10 gearing. Getting 4.56s is something I'd like to do at some point though. It's not really on my high list of priorities right now though considering the 4.10's overall do a pretty good job, but I can tell it lacks in certain areas, especially at higher speed accellerating. I can't imagine what 35's are like with 3.55 gearing though, it must be tough to make it so the tranny isn't skipping everywhere. I already experience some of that tranny skipping on backroads. I've become very good at making sure I get smooth shifts and making sure the tranny doesn't skip, even if that means taking longer than usual to getting up to speed ya know? So keep it easy on the pedal while you run those 3.55 stock gearing with them 35's because it can be easy to destroy a transmission with that kind of ratio!

Yea i know i had it rebuilt like 2 months ago and ever since then i have not gotten on the pedal at all.
I really want to get it done its just that i dont know what type to do or how much it would cost or what other parts of your driveline are affected by it.

I run 35's with 4.10's right now, and it is ok. Nothing spectacular.When I get a chance to regear, I plan to go with 4.88's and here's why.
I started out like a lot of 1/2 ton Ram owners with 3.55 gears and 265/75/16's (31.64"). Then I went to 285/70/17 (32.8") and 4.10's. I thought this was a very good combo, could have even gone a little more in my opinion, but overall, it performed great both on the highway and city. I got 14-15 mpg on the highway, and 12-13 city. So I use this combo as my baseline since it gave me the performance that I liked best out of the tire/gear combos I have run.
So, I did the math (not calculating the extra weight and rolling resistance of the larger tires), and running a 35 with 4.56 is equivelenat to running my old 285's with something around a 3.87 ratio. But running 35's with 4.88's is equivilent to running my 285's with a 4.19 ratio. Since I thought the 285/4.10 combo was very good and could have even been a little lower, a 4.19 would probably have been perfect (no such gear exists in that size obviously). So, calculate in how much more 35's weigh, and how much more their rolling resistance is, and running 35's and 4.88's would be the closest thing to give me back the same performance I had when I had 285's and 4.10s.
