Default Ca smog

California has really strict smog regulations. I need to take my truck to a smock check only place every two years. When they do this test they put it on a dyno, and plug into the comp of the truck. Will this mod show up on there read outs or effect them at all.

Nope. Just moves your power band up a bit. Doesn't affect emissions at all.

Default question

Hello all, new to this forum. I read this thread and am interested in doing this mod. My question is, has anyone cut the runners and modified the belly pan? I understand Hughes fills the top of the kegger. What would happen if the center of the pan was cut out and had either a rolled piece welded in, or a piece that was bent into a v shape welded in to reduce the volume in the kegger? I'm not real sure I explained this very well. Any suggestions on this idea?

Hughes has a selection of dyno runs with the kegger modded in various fashions. It's on their site somewhere...... (I remember seeing it at least.) Look for that, and it should tell you what you want to know.

Welcome to DF!

I'll check that out. Thanks. I hope to learn a lot about mods and such for my truck.

I've been looking on the Hughes site but don't see anything about the kegger. Must not be looking hard enuff. I did see the alum belly pan kits tho. None of them have what I was wondering about done to them.

Yeah, I am having some trouble coming up with it as well. Might want to email them, and enquire.

Contacted Hughes this morning, they no longer do the kegger mod because they have the airgap intake now. What why we can't find anything on their site.

Yeah, I suspect the profit margin on the manifold is a LOT higher than a modified kegger.....
