That looks great. I'm gettign ready to do mine but I still need the new bolts. Or I might try reusing the old ones. There's gotta be a less expensive alternative on those.

 

Don't reuse. They are designed to stretch when you torque them, so the bolts you have are already stretched. You need new bolts to get the correct torque when you install the intake.

 

Cool. There just has to be a cheaper alternative. $50 for bolts is high. I tried to order them from your suggested site. But with the busted link, I just ordered the belly pan. I called and emailed them to include the bolts in my order and I would pay the extra but never got a response. So now I will buy those somewhere else.

 

If you ordered the belly pan kit from APS, it comes with a package of the manifold bolts with it.

 

right. I thought you and others were saying to buy the new intake bolts. Those are another $50 at APS and Hughes. Just found those on Summit for $12.

No, you can't reuse either. The APS kit comes with new belly pan bolts and new intake manifold bolts (mine did at least).

 

I remembered the bolts being $50 extra from APS and I thought they were the same at Hughes. But after searching for them on Hughes site, they appear to be $15. Unless I'm looking at the wrong bolts.

 

I think those are the wrong ones, you need the ones that come with the intake gaskets. They are Torque to yield bolts and can only be used once. I know the price stinks, but hopefully you won't have to take them off again.

 

Well, the ones from Hughes are T/Y bolts and I realize that I'd need the gasket set as well. But I'm pretty sure Autozone has the fel-pro for $10. The summit bolts don't say they are T/Y.

This sucks. I hate not knowing. I wish I was still in touch with my old mechanic friend.

 

why cant you cut more material off of the runner on a 5.2. what is the differance between that and a 5.9. the rason i ask is that i have a 5.9 i would figure to cut as much as possible right?please let me know cuz im doin mine hopfuly this weekend and know u got me freakin even thow i got a 5.9
