I got my rear drums cut when I put new shoes on, so it costs me like 60$. Its a little more involved than the front brakes, its a real PITA if you dont have the right tool, because there are some pretty stout springs holding the shoes to the axle
It is a PITA to do the rear brakes but well worth it.
I would say if you cant just slide the drum off the shoes there is a problem in there. you can look up the drums on partsamerica.com or call your local parts store for best prices.
some of the parts houses will cut your drums for really cheep ask around.
had the same problem with 130,000 miles on my truck. My convertor was bad. It would be fine up to 40 mph. Then it would drag hard like I was pullin a barge. I replaced it with a magnaflow OEM replacement and its been fine since. No Codes. It has a little agressive tone though.
I think with mine, my rear drums can use a replacing, my tranny needs service (fluid change, bands, etc) and my cat. is gettin crappy. I've thought my cat was going bad for awhile, but it was my o2 sensor last time.
