315/75/16 tires

Hi guys, want some comments/help from you guys.
I have a brand new set of 315/75/16 tires, they are dick cepek FC II all terrain tires that I'm planning on putting this week on my truck. First I will be lifting my truck via a home made 3" suspension lift, do you think I will need a body lift for the tires to fit properly? I will be using my stock rims with 2 inch wheel spacers.
Do you think I need some new gears also? My current gears are stock 3.93's.
Any comments will be appreciated.

for 33's your gears will be ok.If you had 3.55s like most of us then I would say definately, but you will be ok, why spend 1000 dollars to only move down a little on the ratio. No body lift will be needed. Whats this your sayin about a home made lift kit. I would just get a 3 inch space and new shocks, and maybe a 1 inch block for the back(if you want).

I have the BuckShot 315's on mine.. but I have a body lift.. I think they would still fit with out.. have more then enough room...I agree on the ratio.. I still have the 3.55 gears.. and I kinda like it.. real low rpms on the highway.. 1400 at 55..tires throw the speedo off by about 7mph.. so going 50 by speedo is really about 57...
Unless you are towing or want to do burn outs.. I think the 3.55 work just fine..IMHO..

So I have been looking into the 315/75R16 and most people told me I need to lift by 3 inches at least to not have rubbing...hence why I didn't jump on it yet cause my tires are still good!
I think I am running 285 right now but I cannot remember.
Just some thought...btw 315/75R16 have a 34.6" overall diameter!

by means of a home made lift is basically a spacer between the the spring and tower, and in the back a lift block basically and longer shocks.
Yeah, I too think that it is not worthchanging the gears, I have had in the past 285/75/16's and I could do burn outs with them, I currently have 265/75/16's.

yea i wouldn't change those gears unless you put 37's on it. I have 36's with 3.55's and I need to change mine, but if I had 3.92's like you I'd would spend my money on something else.
Also this is off subject but larger tires will cause your tranny to heat up, my tranny is going out any how so I did not worry about putting a bigger one in, but if your tranny is in good shape, spend the fifty bucks in getting one, they are very easy to put in and will make your tranny very happy.

also, if you put a block on the back you wont need longer shocks for the back, I have 2 inch blocks on the back of mine and its not a problem for me. I'd just buy 3 inch spacers and front shocks. Then after you get that installed, you may find that you want to add a block, or an add a leaf. If your truck's rear springs have hardly ever had to hold alot of tongue weight, then the truck will probably sit level and look good, but if their a little saggy then you may want to do something
