someone should do a dyno vid of befor and after. "im looseing power, it dosent work, i get crappy mpg" wtf do you expect. what you gain in HP you loose in mpg. i've knowticed no loose in anything. more a gain. so what if you loose 2mpg. these trucks arent race cars.

 

How did I screw up the Computer?

Without resetting it, How is the Computer supposed to know the difference then? The first time I took it out without clearing the Computer's ram, at WOT it would shift 400 rpm's too soon. This was quickly alleviated by Disconnecting the battery for a few min, thus clearing the ram.

I seriously dont see why I would lie about this, so many times. Think about it.

You are "loosing" power? Good God, how did you get out of Elementry school?

 

I switched from the k&n fipk to the mopar air hat and felt a shift from mid/hi to low/mid.

And BTW! I just took off the 14X3 AC and put the stock hat back on and gained all kinds of low end!

 

When you reset the PCM, it starts out running on the rich side, which will kill MPG and give you more power.

 

I have noticed this every time I reset the PCM regardless of what air cleaner I run.

 

I would imagine that if you went from the Mopar airhat to the stock airhat without a reset, the same thing would happen as the parameters of the PCM are still learned from a higher flow air cleaner and stuffing it up with the old airhat is basically causing it to run rich again.

 

It should then lean itself out to a new lower flow of air and increase MPG. Regardless, I believe it takes my truck about 200 miles or so to relearn a PCM reset. I notice worse mileage until that point.
