MonteC,

I'd love it if you did a write up on installing the sonnax valve. I'm pretty sure that's the same valve Wayne at APS sells. I've been toying with doing this, but staring at the valve body from under the truck is a little intimidating without a good set of instructions to fall back on should a spring, valve, or check ball pop out and I not have a good diagram to follow.

Also, what do you do with regards to the check valve in the trans line from the radiator? Do you recommend removing it and replacing with high pressure hose, or leave it be?
When removing the check valve, just make sure to let the truck idle for a few seconds before putting it in gear, 5-10 should be fine.

If the vb is unmodified. Yes.

Ill see what i can do about getting a write up with pictures in the works.

in regards to the check valve, REMOVE IT. Thats part of my warranty, the check valve must be removed.

HOLY $HIT I cant believe your idiocy! You can only be compaired to a person I just read about on mustang forums that flushed his engine oil out with a garden hose while the motor idled.

(chuckling at "heavy duty torque converter")

Lots of love.
Why is a heavy duty torque converter funny? Is it the context he used it in or is the idea of a HD TC funny? Why?

You must have had to work pretty hard to go that far back in the thread to try and find something you could have made fun of me about. If you read the thread in its current state, you would have known I'm not going to the dealership. The shop that installed my original unit is swapping their unit out, and a stock unit is being put in its place. Furthermore, you haven't got the slightest insight on what is going on with this situation. Everything that has been chosen, has been carefully depicted between my lawyer, my father, and I. I don't appreciate your negative antics (as usual).

I too think you are getting ripped off. So now when this unit has problems you've paid a ton of money in lawyer fee's and also have a 15k miles warranty now instead of the 70k you paid for? So basically you have spent the same amount or more and have way less of a warranty. If their heavy duty rebuild used those parts I'd had to see what their stock rebuild would use. Does it even have parts that are half the quality of OEM stuff? I'm kind of doubting it at this point. I would have taken them to court for the money. No way I'd let them put another transmission in. If they did at the very least I'd be getting the price difference back plus keeping the 70k miles warranty or 100k or whatever it was that I originally was supposed to get.

I hope this one works out for you but I don't think I'd take the chance that shop would screw me over again. Especially being that you now have lawyer fee's so if they do screw you over you then are going to have lawyer fee's all over again. Then when they put some crappy stock rebuilt unit in if it does work now what's to say it will in 16k miles? Since they offer that small of a warranty I'd guess even they don't believe it will last. Dodge offers a way better warranty than that. So now you have a $4000 transmission that may not last more than 16k miles. I hope it does but I honestly think you are getting ripped off all over again. That's just my opinion though and it's your truck. At least you are getting them to swap the unit out.

We've asked for a build sheet for a stock transmission if they do install it. I will post the buildsheet as soon as I get it.
