BF Goodrich All-Terrain

Does anybody here own a set of BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires? I'm in the process of trying to sell my pirelli scorpions for some 305/65/17 BFG A/Ts. I know the tread looks pretty meaty, but I wanted to know if it in fact rides smooth? I understand it won't be a highway tire, but is it relatively smooth? I just fear the lugging sound of a mud tire. Any other thoughts would be helpful as well.

My buddy had them before he sold the truck. he ran 265/75/16. They have some highway noise around 70 ish but nothing you would probably hear over your exhaust. The traction my buddy always told me was great. They had a habit of "caking" in the mud which is why I never wanted them. He also had sections of the lug's come off on the outer edges for some reason. (my other friend had the same issue with his ford) They both beat those tires tho. Tread life is about average I guess you could say. Both of my friends stand behind those tires as a great tire, so i'd go for it.

The BFG AT's are a great tire. My dad has them on his truck and now I have them on mine. They are a bit noisier than regular road tires, but have great traction. My dad has a little less than half the tread life left with 40K on them. They are a 10-ply tire so they are a bit stiffer than most road tires. You can't go wrong with these tires.

I just bought a set 285/75R16 and they run great on highway and off road. Not the mud tires hence the all terrain but I am plenty happy with them! Run smoother and quieter, its seems, than my old rugged trail. A wee bit expensive but worth it. My sig pic shows my old tired 265/75R16 Rugged Trail...I need to update that pic!

I've had them before on a Jeep and 2 different trucks. I would've gotten them for my truck I have now, but they didn't come in the size I wanted, so I went with the DickCepeks. I had always preferred the BFG-ATs, but since I've been running the DC-FCIIs, I like them quite a bit as well. I think you'll like the BFGs, unless you want to go in the mid. They do tend to cake up a bit.

I am very excited to hear this. Now I just need somebody to buy my existing tires! I paid $730 for them in June of 2008. They have 6,000 miles on them and have been balanced and rotated on two separate occasions. I'm asking for $500. Does this sound like a reasonable price for tires 5 months old with 6,000 miles on them?? If I can offload these tires I can buy the BFGs. I'm very excited about them. I've looked at the Toyo A/Ts and the Procomp A/Ts. I like the sidewall of the BFG and the tread. Not to mention it's 10 ply and I will still have an E rated tire.

Price seems pretty good, my set of new 285's were just a little under that about a year ago locally, I was initially quoted 1100 out the door. The only reason I got them that cheap was because the tire shop on base offered them for that price and the shop I wanted to go through was willing to price match. Personally I'd shop around near your location, I feel much better buying tires from a local place that I can easily go to if something goes wrong.
You'll like the AT's. They are definitely not loud like a Mud Terrain tire. They seem to wear very well also, although the set I have now have less than 5k on them as I rotate between those and my 35" MTs depending on my mood.
