Yup its a laptop. A tablet PC is more like it.

Here is a work up to how I did it

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-project.html

I just finished tonight. I have been at it for weeks now. It was fun and I will defiantly do it again. Next time i think I'll try fiberglass instead of MDF wrapped in vinyl, but for a few months because I leave on Tuesday on a four month road trip. Speaking of, if anyone wants to meet up and and shoot the sh*t, i'm down. Maybe we can get people from all over the country to meet up and we can put some people and faces behind these screen-names. I'll post the travel website when finished.

im also gonna get an external speaker for the cb part so that ill be able to hear someone talkin to me.

and ive decided im gonna stick with firestik and get their 4' fiberglass tunable tip ant.

could i find them cheaper somewhere else, probly, but ive delt with walcott before and i liked the way my order was handled, and i also liked their customer service dept.
Yea, I'll get a picture up here tonight.

Heh, blue, maybe I should stick with he antenna I have. My FD frequency already has bleedover from a police department near boston and another fire department on Long Island. If the weather is just right, we'd be running a scene and hear someone calling in license plates. Haha.

Maverick, that's a really REALLY awesome setup! I love it. If you're gonna be traveling through Rhode Island, send me a PM. I'd love to check out your truck and chat.

I have a noob question. I just picked up my first dodge truck 3 days ago. its a 97 1500 reg cab long bed with the 5.9L and an auto 4x4. so far i love it. but anyways i just ordered the cb fender mount bracket and a 4 foot stainless steel whip, and im going to put my uniden 78 peeked and tuned in my truck. I wanna mount it on the dash(i use will use the middle seat occasionaly). my question is did you guys just screw into the dash or did you take the dash off and bolt it to the back side? and if you did that how do you remove that panel?

Thank You, Dylan

(this is where i want to mount mine)

you can use some self tapping screws and screw right into the dash. i believe thats what most guys do. 3/4" self tapping screws should be enough to hold a cb.

Agreed. I used self tapping screws when I mounted my scanner in my '94.
