Ive heard alot about this, the easiest cure is a dash plate which is just a replacement for the top of the dash, heard its a lifesaver.... apparently its a Big job doing a swap
It is a big job doing a swap and very costly if you have a profession do it. Took me over 8 hours of wrench time before I finally got mine swapped... Biggest waist of my life... Take my advice and just buy a carpet cover for it. or do the above...
I just got done doing mine about mouth ago it easly just take some time the biggest pan is the streeting clom eletirc plugs are by the wheel you have the take the plastic off around the clom like were the turn sign swich is. Did mine Fri night and sat afternoon lots of breaks and doing others stuff.
I had my a/c serviced and before i had that done i bought a OEM dashpad .Costed me 364.00 for a new one. While they were doing the a/c i had them swap the dash pad out.I bought a dash carpet right after that since i dont plan on replacing that dash piece again.
I can do a 94-97 dash swap in 2 hours, it's really not that big of a deal. First time I did it I went really slow and still had it done under 5 hours.
I pulled a dash to replace the cracked one in my 95. I haven't put it in yet because I was dreading the amount of time it was going to take. So you're giving me a thread of hope. Any tips on how to do this...or anything in general. The only help I'll have is from my 7 and 9 year old boys.
Thanks, Sheryl
