Best gasket to use is a FARPAK, its a paper lament combination. Also you may need to dab a little rtv onto the threads of each bolt. DO NOT RTV THE PAN GASKET.

Are the holes in the gasket small enough so you can screw all the bolts into the gasket?

Nope. But the gasket is always flat packed, so they are very easy to install. They are the only pan gasket i will use. Unless the stock bonded metal one is still in good shape.

Torque pan gaskets to 100inlbs. You dont want to pinch the gasket.

With the paper lament gaskets you have to clean the gasket surfaces, just wipe them dry. When they get hot the lament takes effect.

Thanks M, I'm changing that crappy Help! drain plug ASAP, so I might as well try a new gasket too.
