Thumbs down Gremlin noise...

So this noise got me all confused now...I get a grinding sound when I break; it starts at 12 mph until 8 mph.

The grinding is kinda like a growl feel...only happens once the truck is warmed up and gets a little rougher the warmer the truck gets.

Remember...only between 12-8mph! I am at a lost! I checked and got someone to check the breaks...all good, I just replaced them 3 months ago...new pads, rotors, bleed the line and everything.

They didn't know what is was but said bring it on Wednesday and we can diagonise it for $95 an hour...ouch! lol

any ideas? U-joints? anything?

You the same guy that nailed a gaurd rail? Might have soemthing to do with it.

I would throw some brake cleaner on there and see if tha helps. You may have a deformity in the either the rotor or pads that only vibrate at that frequency, it has somthing to do with the resonance of the problem, I would replace the brakes and such be fore you spend 100 bucks an hour for some yahoo to tell you the same thing.

Just becasue rotors are new does not mean they are not the problem, you are gunna spend a hundred buck to replace rotors and pads any way. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is usually a duck.

You could have gotten a crappy batch of rotors and pads, Idont see how it could be a Xfer case if it only does it when you hit the brakes, wheel berrings would grind all the time, and it is not a tranny problem if it does not do it under tranny brakeing. This has allt he earmarks of a brake issue.

I notice it looks like you have mudders or agressive tires on your truck. Im using my father in laws truck right now and it has mudders and has the same noise when stopping at slow speeds. I believe that might be your problem

Jack up the front, spin the wheel, have a buddy step on the brake and see if you can duplicate the sound.
