Well since mine decided to melt on my 5.2 what do you all suggest for a replacement? Stock or other? Also links and such would be nice

I would figger out why the stocker decided to melt before you try and replace it.

I would just get whichever is cheaper between the stocker or the round setup (if you don't go muddin). None of em make much difference anyway.

the little filter is for crank case ventilation and you need to have it to replace the line that goes up to the old airhat box.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I'm curious....

Why did it melt?

For a replacement it can be as easy as going to advance and getting the chrome round mr gasket aircleaner, comes with a gasket. $20 something bucks. Same exact thing as the mopar cover above, the mopar one just looks cooler.

i have the k&n fipk system, and feel it was the biggest waste of money on mods i have spent.about 250$. i had the k&n drop in before that, and never noticed any difference when switching to the fipk setup. except for the loud sucking noise.

i, myself might try the round filter setup sometime, like above.and get the valve covers to match. looks really cool that way. i wished i would have got the valve covers when i did my new roller rockers.

i guess what i am saing is,get what you can get cheap. you can get the round filter setup from your local parts store for under 50 bucks. and just keep a clean one in it.
