Taking a Trip
Tomorrow I am heading up to downeast Maine to enjoy some of the deep snow they have gotten over the past couple of weeks. It's probably going to be the last time I enjoy snowmobiling for the year. I was just up there at my grandparents house yesterday, and they had well over three feet of snow everywhere...some places up to 6ft. with the drifts.
Anyways, this time we will be taking the big dodge. Going to have a snowmobile on the bed, and two other snowmobiles on a 20ft. long trailer. I'm hoping it's going to handle the load a little better than my dad's truck. He has a 4.6L F-150 extended cab long bed. Thing is a workaholic, but she's a wee-bit underpowered for her size. It kept kicking in and out of overdrive trying to sustain 65mph on the highway. The trip is about three hours total (200) miles. About 150 miles are highway, and the other 50 miles are filled with steep hills. Anything I should be keeping into consideration on the trip. The last time I took my truck up to my grandparents house (unloaded), it burnt a transmission. Thanks guys.

I intend to travel at around 70-75mph the entire way up there. I've driven in 50mph zones with o/d off, and it seems like the engine is just screaming, praying for an extra gear. Are you guys saying you travel with overdrive off going 70+mph down the highway?
When towing it should have strain on it not to do that. I'm 99% sure though when towing your suppose to keep od off
