Default Plenum Gasket

How do I tell if i need a new plenum gasket? I look down thru the throttle body, and the bottom of the pan looks wet. Is this unspent fuel? Oil? Or should it look dry as a bone down there?

you will see oil on the bottom of the plenum, look down the throttle body to see it. there is a TSB on it as well with a test that DC gives but I hear it's not that conclusive... Plenum Leak TSB

yes, it affects both milage and power, you have a vacuum leak... both will suffer.

Ok, next question, how hard is the intake to get off, i am a mediocre mechanic, but i have never pulled one off a 318 truck, does the dist have to come out, or just the cap?
