just wondering what people have done to increase the mileage on these engines. power is pretty fair,( could always use more ) mileage sucks.. are the chips just hype or do they actually work? would like to be able to get to the track with-out blowing the budget on gas getting to the track. also intake/exhaust mods and anything else that works. NO keeping my foot out of it will NOT work
whats up man. the best thing to do is go with the hypertech module. 25 hp and about 31 lb/ft gains plus 15% mpg gain. i also have 2001 w/360 and those are my dyno proven numbers. Then just get you a drop in k&n filter added another 8hp. hope this helps.
What are you guys getting? I'm getting about 8-9mpg but running 33" tires and the only thing I have that is supposed to improve milage is flowmasters and I don't think it really does. I'm not exactly easy on the throttle but don't floor it all the time either.
Better than my 8-9 is that normal or is something wrong with mine? Do the 33X12 tires make that big of a differnce? I'm also not always light on the gas but don't floor it all the time as I said.
Oh that's awesome... you guys with your fuel injection and overdrive transmissions and smaller tires get worse gas mileage than my 86?
yeah and we look good doing it too... [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
search for mpg treads from silverdodge, he just reported that his mpg is up around 16 and he has done a few mods...
the biggest change in mpg from any mod that I've done has been the TB upgrade. All of the mods will change HP/TQ and affect your mpg one way or another. usually your right foot dictateds how much mpg you get. the more power the more the temptation [sm=badbadbad.gif]
