The $30 DIY Oil Change.............Flame On!!!!
you mentioned a breaker bar for the plug, one thing to always keep in mind when breaking a bolt loose is that its easier to pull the ratchet than to push it, and it'll save your knuckles too. mines 5/8ths also.
the fram oil filters are the worst for leaving the old o-ring on the block. i haven't had that happen since i started using the mopar filters.
walmart is the best place for oil and the filter because of price, the fact that they have mopar filters (the only ones they have are for our trucks) and the oil comes in a 5 quart jug, not a gallon. i never understood why the parts stores sell gallon jugs instead of 5 quart, that makes you have to buy an extra quart instead of having it all in one bottle.

that mopar filter is 4 something at walmart and i think its like 11 at the dealer and i don't care for fram since i saw a lot of people on here saying that the filter material in them falls apart and flows on out into the engine.
Some Mopars are made by Purolator, some by Fram. There was also a third company involved, but the name escapes me.
The thing about the Mopar brand is that they don't make much (if anything) of their own, they hire other companies to do it, relabel the product Mopar (with a new color or whatever), and then mark up the price some.
If you buy Mopar, you may be getting a decent Purolator, or you may be getting a crappy Fram, or you may be getting a mystery filter.
In all honesty, the cost difference in filters between a cheap Mopar/Fram/etc. filter and a good brand name filter (Wix, for example) isn't that much. We're talking under ten bucks here. It isn't worth risking your entire engine.
Thats my two cents.

Which is exactly why a WIX or a Baldwin filter should be used.
