What's a belt latter?

No fair editing after the crime!

you might be able to do that, it would depend on whether or not the alt pulleys were the same diameter and bolt hole. If it's a different sized pulley, you'll get a different charge rate. The ground strap point and alt gauge plug might be different on the back as well, so don't assume it's plug and play.

When I got done with all my audio equipment, I had to upgrade the ALT. All I did was go to a Denso shop, and they built me a 170 AMP alternator. All I had to do was put a 200 amp fuse in the master, and nothing else. Been running it for 3 years now, and havent had a problem. They did switch out pulleys when they did it though. Ran me about $200 for it. Mine came stock with a 117 amp, and that wasn't enough for two amplifiers....

Aim, sounds interesting, but I think I would be a dumbass to use it on my setup....

Also If anyone is going to put a underdrive kit on and it comes with a alt pulley leave the belt on when you take the nut off the pully so it will not turn. I tryed to do it like the DIY said but could not get it to come off. So I put the belt back on and hit it with the impact gun and it came right off. Just a idea might save you some time!!!

I just ordered the hughes underdrive pulleys (crank & altenator) Can I remove the crank pulley without taking off the balancer too (the center bolt). Also anybody know what size belt?

There were 6 bolts that held the pulley to the harmonic balancer on mine torqued to 200 in/lbs. The big center nut doesn't need to come off, at least not on the 5.2L. Call Hughes for the belt size they recommend.
