Default 99 Ram Help

I have a 99 ram sport 4x4 and just got it inspected. They changed the track bar and a front U joint. Now my steering wheel is off by about 45 degrees. My question is can I just adjust the steering wheel to make it straight or do I have to get an alignment if they put a new track bar on.

You can just adjust the sterring wheel only, thats not to say you dont also need an alignment though. Does the truck drive strait even though the wheel is off?
Hopefully someone else here has the pics can and point out how to straiten out just the wheel. I know how but I dont have a camera right now to point out how, but its super easy just have a friend to help you, have them sit in the truck and straiten the wheel while your underneath doing the labor.. lol

i need to do this also. If someone could post pics that would be great..

I got my truck aligned after i got the lift and the steering wheel never was perfectly strait... although it drives strait and i stop and it never pulls to the side... and the papers they gave me with the angles and such were perfect.

What are you bumping for ? Kindschi gave you the answer , except to say it's the drag link that get's adjusted. Plus you didn't answer his question.

How do you adjust the steering wheel to make it straight and the truck drives fairly straight without touching the wheel it pulls slightly to the right I was wondering if the track bar and u joint would mess up the alignment at all

If she pulls to the side then you may need an alignment.....

Most vehicles have a slight pull to the right simply because the roadways are not all perfectly flat. The center is often raised to facilitate water drainage.

Yes, dude. Whenever you get front end work and parts replaced its cheap insurance to get an alignment. When the garage is aligning it, tell them to straighten your wheel. It's the easiest way. If you straighten your wheel yourself, and two months later you find your tires are wearing, it was all for not because you then have to go and get the alignment anyway. Most places (in Cali) will do an alignment check for free.

if I paid for an alignment and found the steering wheel off center, i would take it back to them. straigtening the wheel is part of the alignment. its not hard to do.... but you already paid to fix it.
