You don't want the check valve, period.
Old or new.

DIY, and keep the pressure on the sham mechanic.
On what grounds could he possibly refuse to honor a waaranty after only a couple weeks ?

Dang, that was quick.
Could possibly be TPS sensor, I don't want to get you into throwing parts at it with no solid base though, you'd serve yourself best by detailing your problems in a fresh thread, that way you might get some fresh input and ideas.

hey buddy i feel your pain i had my trans rebuilt 6 months ago an since the day i got it it does your latest prob shifts to second a couple times then goes in an works great threw all the other gears. i got a 1 year worrentee with this back yard guy he has been trying to solve this prob ever since my truck is at his place right now he put in a brand new valve body gov press sensor an an just about everything else. today he is going to apply press to my drums with his air tool to see if it holds press the dealership said it might have a bad o ring thats allowing the fluid to go up their but fall back out alowing it to come out an go back in to second. mine works fine under hard acceleration anything over 3 thousand rpms will yours work fine over 3 also. im lost an getting verry upset with this deff sorry if that truck is your dd i have srt8 charger i drive for my dd but this is still agrivating i want mu damn truck to work right an be back in my hands. if this last test proves to be not it he is rebuilding a nother dodge tranny he has at home an swapping it in.
