Gear question
Do any of you guys know what a High Pinion/ Reverse Rotation gear is also I found a set of dand 44 thick gears but the guy told me the gears use a 7/16" ring gear bolt instead of the more common 3/8" bolts. and the ring gear bolt holes must be drilled out slightly from 3/8" to 7/16". Is this bad to do or not I just dont know much about gears Thanks

A high pinion/reverse rotation is a type of axle housing where the pinion gear enters the top of the pumpkin instead of at the bottom like average axles. It is commonly used in applications where the lift is so high that the driveshaft angle will be too severe with a standard axle. Rockwell axles use this type of setup.

There are a number of different versions of the Dana 44. I doubt one from a Jeep as you've described it would fit without needing some degree of fabrication. If it was designed for a leaf spring front end it won't work. Rock crawlers love those axles, but they use them on long suspension setups. If you have a mildly lifted truck it probably isn't worth the effort to make it fit.
