I have a door that is stuck on my truck, I tried to unseize it with penetrating oil with no luck, has anyone else had any luck with this ? any tips? the truck is a 1998 dodge ram 2500 with the 5.9l motor and is the ext. cab with the doors that open after you open the front door. thanks for any info.
hook a come a long up to it and a tree and start cranking...
don't do that, you'll probably bend up the door. is the handle working properly? the latches may just not be releasing at the top or bottom of the door all the way.
ya , the handle is working properly. it seems to be seized at the bottom of the door close to the latch. not sure what is the next step in the plan should be and was wondering what anyone else has done to fix this or do i just keep the penetrating oil to it? thanks
that is a thought that i never thought of . here is another question , I dont have the manual for the truck , it is a 1998 dodge ram 2500 slt, ext. cab , on the overhead console what do i have to press to get the mpg? or does this truck have that feature ? all i see is the temp and directon . sorry for the silly question just thought i would ask as i dont have the book.
Not sure if the '98 has that feature, but generally, pressing the right button allows you to cycle through the various computer readouts one at a time. Pressing and holding both buttons at the same time resets the computer.
thanks, I gave the cycling with the right button a shot, but no luck, but thats ok, I didnt buy it as a fuel saving vehicle, more for dump runs and maybe some fun.

My drivers side rear was like that when I bought it. I had to take the handle off, disconnect the rods, and if your lucky you can get away with spraying the top of the latch from inside the door and free it(you can just pull the rod up to try). I was not lucky, shinning a flashlight down to it, I seen it was rusted bad. I ended up using a dremel cutting disk(bolts broke trying to get them out) and cut the latch off. Got another from junk yard. Must be something about the 98's
