aim, yours is an 01 so everything applies to your truck from the FSM but there are some minor differences that non-01's have to be careful with, specifically the band adjustment on the tranny. different years have to be backed off a different number of turns.

true, but I don't know that the Haynes or Chilton Manuals are correct on some of those differing points either.

+1 on certain people being total douches.

you more than likely did not overfill. it holds some 26 quarts. a trans fluid change *according to the FSM* is 4 quarts give or take, anyone thats done it knows it takes closer to 6 (did for me and several other from what i searched).

to check start her up, set the parking brake, put her in N, check the fluid level at normal operating temp. im sure someone else already said that.

16 and a half dry! LOL @ 26 quarts. Pints maybe, which would be 32 not 26.

My manual says 9-16.5 quarts depending on model. That's a lot less than 26 quarts. It also says 4 quarts for a simple drain, filter and refill.

i was mistaken, already went over that ...and again, aware about the 4 quarts for a change. most people on this board go from between 5-8 on a 46RE. i put 4 in and it most definately was still below the line at operating temp plus 100+ ambient temp. 6 put her about 3/4ths up the fill hash marks.

my bad
