Yeah, I think the magnums block is ok, just other wear and tear items involving the engine go.

Eh, there are some people putting boost on the stock magnum, and I have said it before. They are insane. I hope that people that do do this have the money laying around to do a rebuild later down the road. From the trucks that I have seen running boost, safe is around 1-5 PSI on stock internals. That's also with tuning and larger injectors.

Purpl, a remote turbo has a lot of benefits that a conventional charger doesn't. Main focus point here is cooler operating temps. They also have wicked sound, very different from the sound any conventional turbo can produce. Videos on the internet don't do STS justice. It's a niche market, and yes it caters to the people that have little cars and not enough room under the hood to mount a turbo. But, just think what people would ask when they see your intake tubing run all the way underneath your truck... Most of us don't wheel our trucks hard enough to throw mud way up into the fender wells. That's about the best place to mount the filters, but then again, you could even relocate them into the engine bay just for the hell of it.

<-- running a krc sts kit.
$2600 gives you a full kit with all parts, upgraded injectors, and sct tuning.
They have a twin turbo kit for an additional 1k.
The reason for a rear mount, well you don't have to have custom headers made, and the length of pipe under the truck and the air flow, helps cool the return charge, acting similar to an intercooler. As for lag, I am running an .81mm gtk-850 turbo on a 408 with 8:2 compression and am getting into boost @ 3200.
There is a boost thread (sticky) under the dakota section. If you need any more info on the subject, lemme know

Yeah I was wondering about that. If I had another truck I would get custom heads, but on my truck now is a good deal not having to do anything after I recieved the kit.

Custom heads? Or headers?

If you mean heads, you can do a lot with out of the box eddy's. If you mean headers, spintechs will do the job just fine.

oops, musta missed that. Buy some eq's or eddy's and some head studs and there yah go. Enough info on the forums, the most technical part of the swap is the torque load/sequence. Don't ask me how I know that.
