Default new heads installed

well, i am a new man. WOW! we got the new heads installed over the weekend. they are toplines with as much porting as humanly possible. we got 302 cfm! we used mopar performance 1.7 rockers (used...but still good), milodon valves, port matched gaskets and went ahead and done the hughes plenum fix. the throttle body was already bored to 50mm but i didnt do the kegger mod.

this truck is crazy! like a new one! soooo much fun driving it to work this morning. the comp is still a little off but he says that if i come by this evening that he will get that right.

tom im gonna do another dyno test and hopefully go back to the track on wed night (depending on the rain).

...this makes me wanna down the whole engine and build it from scratch...boy this is addictive!!!

What size heads did you got with? If you do a motor you can fit a 396 in there or pull your 318 out and put the 360 and a do a 408.

i didnt lose anything...anywhere. its gains all the way around. im telling you, i didnt have to try to see if there were gains. didnt have to "want" to think it was better. its like another truck. we will see what the gains are on paper tomorrow.

ill tell you this...i have never had a problem with tires spinning on wet pavement from a dead stop. this morning...lol...i had to pay conscious effort not to.

i dont pay for the dyno runs because the shop owner, Jean, is one of my customers. we have been trading work for work on this project. however, i think its like $125 for three pulls.

as far as the tires go... i know. lol. however, i dont do the burnout. a burnout in treaded tires is a bad idea. the water actually gets into the treads and can cause tire spin later down the track.

and i dont "plan" on running at the track that often. just till i get it like i like it.

you got that right...but its worth it. heck, my wifes decorating habit still costs more than my truck.

im already doing some serious research about a cam swap. i think someone told me on here that the motor didnt have to be pulled to do the swap...who knows. but, wow...this cam thing is confusing. im trying to find the one i want and i dont trust the retailers because i know how that works...lol.

jean, my mechanic, says he will try to do some research and let me know as well. ill talk to him this evening when we run the dyno again. he says that he may also have a custom flash for my OBD1. he acts like OBD1 isnt that big a deal.

ill post the results tonight or tom morning.
