Went up to the parts store today and saw a monster sitting on the yard to the parts store. I just had to take some pics for you guys.

All in all, if I ever see this "it" driving down the road, I'm going to pull over and go hide. This is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

 

It is very creative to say the least. (I like the emergency brake setup). I do agree more care could have been use in the construction portion.. but then again it is a mud truck after all. Don't think you need to worry about seeing it drive down the road. tks for the pic's.

Why did they put the rear end so far back?

 

the axle is a rockwell. it was used on 2.5 ton military trucks. very very strong.
the brake is called an axle brake, as opposed to wheel brakes.

hans beat me to it. he also got it right, as pinion brake.

I have seen rock crawlers that the red necks at the off road park there welds were better than that.
