Yeah, I already read that one for the poor man TB. I don't have any buddies that would machine the TB for me for free.

i machined one for free, but i still need to make bigger throttle plates so it isn't on my truck. the stock plates are 1.978" and i bored the TB out to 1.978, but the stock plates sit at a slight angle so they have a big enough gap for me to have an 1100 rpm idle, i guess the IAC can't compensate enough.

How did you machine it yourself?

Very nice! Looks good! But I don't have a milling machine either. Oh well, I'll go with the fastman when I have the money.

Maybe I'll try to make friends with someone that could do this haha

I'd mill mine myself, but I've read too many mixed things about that mod.

The modifications/upgrades available for a 5.9 V8 are more numerous than a 5.2 V8. Plus, tuners can unlock more power out of the detuned "death flash" 5.9 then they can the detuned "death flash" 5.2, like Purpl stated. However, you do lose mileage.

A stroker kit might be better, as someone suggested, though.

The more free flowing exhaust the higher topend.
To a point. Make it to free flowing, and the air will begin to cool before it leaves the exhaust pipe. Pushing denser, cooler air out of the pipes is bad for an engine. Robs you of more power. This is the "backpressure" that people always mistakenly talk about. There is no backpressure in an exhaust system, it should be more accurately described as "air density."

But it loses velocity because of the air density increase, otherwise why would it lose velocity?
