and a blown plenum can cause oil, and carbon to build up in the cat, thus cloggin it. the best view is through the 02sensor, for looking in through the pipes you will not get a good visual, if any at all. Now that yo've eliminated the no spark, its time to move to this....

BTW what filter on top of the injector? i just swapped my fuel rail/fuel injectors to my new manifold last night and theres no filter...(I found one of my injectors was completely covered over with grime in the bottom portian of injector. wonder how much of a diff ill have since i was gettin 13-14 city before which is weird)

as for the o-rings, when i did the plenum first time, i used the same o-rings, and it caused my injectors to leak. so you do need to get new o-rings before installation, and use some vasaline to get them into position, for going in dry can ruin the o-rings/not seal. (that sounded dirty lol)

The reason for unscrewing the o2 is not so you can look in there, it's to relieve the pressure and give the exhaust somewhere to escape, in the event the cat is plugged.

o, thats how i looked into my CAT yesterday since im doing my rebuild and i wanted to know how the CAT looked. i have a little LED flashligh, and i could see grime clogging about half the honeycomb ports.

thought thats what you meant because unscrewing the 02 wont make it start, so i thougt this was the other explanation

It will start if the cat is badly clogged, that is the whole point of unscrewing it.

Once I get the injectors back Ill unscrew the o2 and see if the cat is bad. The cat might be bad since its so old but maybe not.

well if the plenum has never been changed you will 99% be sure its blown now, and all the oil that gets sucked into the manifold and goes through the CAT (obviously) and the oil can ruin the o2sensor as well for the carbonbuild up will not let it get a reading, so you may want to change this sensor anyways

Man this forum has changed. I haven't been here in a while. When did all the a$$holes show up and start picking on the new members?

The OP is working the problem and using the advice given in his own way. You people are jumping on him way too much and without very helpful advice. Do you really need to have 15 posts in a row stating why he didn't follow your advice?

Sheesh, lay off the dude. My opinion anyway.

No! First put the injectors back in and see if it starts and runs good. One step at a time will help us all for future diagnostics. I just don't see a truck sitting for only 3 months(unless of course there is water in the fuel) and not starting because of the injectors. You might also want to check the PCM for stored codes that existed before you bought it.

Thats what I meant. Ill start it first and then go to the cat. The truck ran really bad before it was parked. I think it is because of the fuel pump going bad. So it wasn't perfect before being parked.

The fuel pump going bad is fairly common, but a blown lower intake gasket and clogged cat is more so. And since it ran crappy before, there must be some codes on the PCM which will help you/us diagnose the problem. Could be a ton of things wrong, but you need to eliminate certain easy/obvious things, before spending money and wasting time.
