Default ram vs cold air intakes??? whats better???

been reading on different intakes and trying to decide whats the best setup.

cold air vs ram air intake.
which is better???

There's already an entire thread on this....use the search function...although it doesnt offer any real facts from what I remember.
if properly installed the cai would have better results since colder denser air = more horspower that has been proven many times. But many here for some reason think the old fashioned round filter is just as good I had both and dont really notice any difference except the round one was louder (air sucking noise) which wasnt desirable to me

For the record though, CAI's are better. Just becuase you are getting colder air. Cold air= denser, cooler, runs better. LOL! The jist.

hes not asking about a cai vs a round he wants to know if RAM AIR is better then a cai....


my answear of course ram air is better then a cai

a ram air intake is a form of CAI? and it totally depends on use....ram air is bad for driving in rain and mud....can cause problems like hyrolock
its better for racing though

Oh. Thought a open kit to a closed kit. A ram air can also be called a HAI or a Ram Air intake, cuz it would be short. Sorry for the confusion. But yes a ram air setup is better than a CAI.

their are a couple of dodge cars that cam stock with ram air in the 70's the grand am gt has ram air.. a functional set up and the ws6 firebird has a ram air hood set up too and is functional.

did they make a ws6 firebird. i thought the ws6 package was only on the trans am? sorry kinda OT. but my cuz has a ws6 trans am with a functional ram air system
