If it still does it, even with fluid level up to where it should be. I would be thinkin' REAL hard about yanking the pan, and taking a look see. Verifying that it isn't just a sending unit problem first might save you some work though. I picked up the el-cheap-deluxe mechanical gauge at advance for 20 bucks, and just hooked it up temporarily to see if I did indeed have a problem. Which I did...... installed a high volume pump, and cleaned out my pickup tube.

Wait, what? You expect your truck to give you issues when it is NICE out? Weather you can work outside in a t-shirt, and actually sweat? As opposed to when it is cold enough to make frosty the snowman start looking for a campfire???? Puh-lease.
It just recently started. When I turn a sharp corner, it drops to 0, and the indicator kicks on. When running level at idle, the dummy gauge shows 39-43....when at highway speeds its normal.
i have the same issue, your oil level is low, check it and i will almost guarantee it will barely be on the stick if on it at all.
