I used the Wilson Lil Will antenna for awhile and it was decent until I upgraded to two 3" 1000 watt whips. The single antenna was alright and it went a few miles but the whips have it beat by a long shot, just now sure how far they go though.

I don't want anything that big. I was looking at under 4'. 3 or 4' would be nice.

So I can set up duals and just set one up and it will work well? Would that work less efficiently than just buying one and mounting it differently? Sorry I am CB retarded lol

If it matters, I'll be using it just for talking to buddies and stuff, I hope to use the weather feature as well as it sounds convenient. So I don't need it to reach to 25 miles away, but a few miles would be nice.

Whats the point of using a 1000 watt antenna on a radio only capable of 4 watts..?

1. Having duals and just using one is purely for cosmetic reasons only.

2. For a simple and easy CB setup, which seems what you are after, keep it down to one antenna. Where you put it is up to you. I have mine on a hood mount made specifically for our trucks (see link below) and it works great with a 3' Wilson fiberglass antenna. Other common locations are stake hole mounts or just a magnet mount on the roof.

I know it is for cosmetic reasons, but I'm saying it will work fine that way? I might do that. I am not a fan of drilling holes but I guess I might have to to mount them on the bed lips.
