Default Getting a CB

So I finally am getting around to buying a CB. It's one of my Christmas presents this year. I bought the CB off ebay. It's a Cobra Nightwatch.

Anyway. I have been searching around reading up on them (mostly to find a decent CB - the nightwatch seems to be a good one). But I wanted to get some opinions on a good CB antenna. I know a lot of people like the Firestiks, but I've heard good things about the Wilsons. I want a 3' or 4', duals look cool, but I've heard singles work better.. Tuneable is necessity?

i will mark in here... i have twin 4' firesticks... running to my older tuned up uniden... my firesticks work great... i have no problems with them... but as far as i know.. ( keep in mind im only 21, and dont know cbs the best) but twins work jsut as good as duals as long as teh end cap is tuned for swr... so i think the twin firesticks would work jsut fine... jsut dont run one line loner then teh other wehn running them... like putting a 1' extention on the right side and not the left... as a matter of fact, i would not put an xtention on either one... messes up the radio carry through the cable, but on the single end you can add what you need to make it work...

i have a single wilson 3ft, its a very nice antenna ive had firesticks in the past but my wilson can go twice as far, if you get duals hook up 1 its alot easyer to tune and the better you tune it in the better it will performe, my first radio was a cobra 29 night watch they have a nice set up with the tuner built in

I run the Radio shack 102" antenna in the dez. I full quarter wavelength, and stellar range. I can also ziptie a flag to the end of it and use it in the dunes.

Where is the best/easiest place to mount them? Can I mount them ONTO the lip of the bed without drilling? I like the look of duals behind the cab, but I'd rather have it peform well than look good, so whats the most efficient?

So a single will work better than duals?

yea, a single will typically give lower SWRs than duals, big rigs get away with duals b/c the antennas are much farther apart (our 07 T800 has duals and a nice 1:1.5 swr)

i mounted mine just inside the bed, where the front stake pockets are, nice flat easy surface to mount to...plus if you go too close to the cab they will hit it when you find some bumps (my 4 footers would anyway)

Single. These are pickup trucks, not Semis.
