Ok, I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 5.9L 4X4 ext cab sport. I have a hypertech programer, And i would like to get a different one, One with more options, Any opinions?
SCT seems to be the way to go for power. I have the Hypertech and like it just due to the fact I can change the speedo for my tire size. Can't do that with the SCT from what I understand.
SCT= Super Chips Tuner Correct?
If so then I just went to the site and there isnt a option for a 1997 only 98 up. And the hypertech was sold right after I tuned the truck , so sorry?

No, no, you can't go that route. I run SCT on my truck and it's a 96. You need to contact the man: hemifever@aol.com. Tell him what engine mods etc etc and he'll sell you the tuner with three tunes loaded in.
There's two options:
1. Preset package: no custom tuning package. (custom tunes are at an additional charge on a per/change basis with this package)
2. UNLIMITED package: custom tunes at no extra charge. This is what I have. I knew I was going to be doing engine mods at a later time so, as the mods go in, I simply contact him and he writes a new tune for me to test out.
Contact Hemi and he'll fill you in on all the details of what they have going on as far as deals.

no. SCT = S......? Custom Tuner. It has some preloaded performance tunes, plus it allows user designed custom tunes. something superchips does not allow. most people buy it through a forum guru, Hemifever, who supplies the custom tuning knowhow. This is useful for engines with modified cams, strokes, injectors, etc.
regarding hypertech - i hope you didn't program your truck, which VIN locks the hypertech, and then sell the hypertech. If you did - it was worthless unless you un-programmed your truck.
