okay so when i start the truck up the oil pressure rises normaly and stay there as i drive down the road but sometimes when coming to a stop thhe gauge will just drop completly then rise back to normal again.. is it a sensor bad or the oil sending unit going or something? should i be worried or just let it be? thanks for the help
it dops to 0 psi? with mine when on the gas its at 60, and when i hit the brakes/come to stop, she drops to 40-45PSI which is normal. but if its going to 0 on yours, then it make be a clogged screen or the oil pump on its way out
yeah it drops the whole way to zero but not everytime.. like its only if i'm at higher rpms than have to make a fast stop and the rpms drop faster than it dings and the gauge drops..
it has about 3k on a oil change like a year ago.. a addedd some more oil and and ive chacked it since it said it was fine but im thinking ill add a little here tonight and run it hard and see if it does it. the truck hasnt lost power or anything it still runs like a rapped ape
One of the Dodge vans we use to transport inmates at work does this too. The dash starts chiming and the "check guages" light comes on till a couple seconds later when the oil pressure guage returns to normal. Been that way for a long time. Must be some kind of short or fault somewhere.
i think its the plenum gasket myself i ask a friend of mine that use to work at a chrysler dealership and told him the symptoms and thats what he said it was.. so it looks like thats where im going to start with this ordeal thanks for the help
