Default Defective Gear Box

Hello All.
Dealer inspected all the suspension and steering parts with no looseness or play noted, including everything you guys mentioned the past couple of days and nothing was bad. He tightened the gear box nut and still the steering wheeling play continues and the service manager took it for a ride to experience the problems.
They have decided Chrysler sent a defective steering gear box and ordered a new one. They seem convinced a new gear box will solve the wandering all over the road. There was no charge for what they did today or the new box.
Do you all think they are on the right track. Will my horrible steering finally come to an end?

Since it was free of charge, wait and see. I hope this fixes your problem!

If it doesnt fix it, then i'd say deal with it because you cant be too **** about your steering when it comes to a fullsize truck. Iv heard people say they'er too tight too loose too springy not responsive enough. If you're coming from a car then into a fullsize truck then you've got alot of learning to do. trucks dont ride anything like cars.

But now that he tightened the gear box screw it's worse steering. These people are horrible sending people off to drive something that is obviously dangerous on the road. Really someone could be killed driving a truck with the steering they have left me with until the new gear box arrives. I'm gonna have to rent a car for a few days.

I asked her if it was the shaft and she said the mechanic checked all other parts and shaft is ok. She showed/gave me diagrams of the steering and suspension areas examined, saying all the parts were fine and so determined a faulty steering gear box.
I still feel, especially since he turned the screw and steering is worse than ever, aprehensive about a new box.
The service lady who drove with me in the truck did explain how a steering gear box is suppose to mesh precisely and apparently this one isn't.
Have a feeling this great truck of mine is going to get sold and I'll buy another one.
I feel like sh*t.
