There are no wires on the buckle.

Should be.... if there aren't, there is your problem. May have the wrong buckle installed there.

Bought it factory new and not only is there no place for electrical connectors there never was. Are you talking about the belt assembly or the buckle?

Buckle side.(not retractor side.) Wires may be stashed under the carpet, or some such.

Not there and never have been. Go look at yours and take a picture if they are there and post it. Just telling you that it's not there and I would be surprised to find that you would be the only 90's model that had it. I don't know about 2k and up.

Hey, could it be a computer issue?
I mean, like if the gauge cluster was used in the Durangos, and they had it, that would be the computer on the Rams would just disable it, right?

I highly doubt it is a computer issue. Maybe a module or something but not a computer issue. I have already tested the fuses and wires and all have checked out. There is a box under the center center console that controls the seat belts and I wanted to see if someone ordered that and to see if it fixed the issue. Or any others that have experienced this not guessers.

Mine is a 96, seat belts are different..... (to a degree....) my buckle bolts directly to the seat...

Grab the 01 service manual. Have a look at the diags. See what you can come up with.

Mine bolts to the seat as well. I have seen a lot of great advice from you on here HeyYou and I don't mean this offensively but you dont know what your talking about on this one. Dodge changed the seat belt control on 2k and up. The 2k1 service manual will not help me. There is an SCTM box that could be the culprit and they did away with it in the 2k and up models. I would like to know if anyone has had luck replacing that module. I have heard of some others having the seat belts permanently locked in the off position and the light on. I only have the light coming on and off, more frequently on than off now.
