Annoying Seat Belt light on!
All I can tell ya is what I see in the manual.
If things changed from 1999, to 2001..... not much I can do there. I doubt that it is the same system as the 97 and older....
But... just as a stab in the dark here..... Looks like on the older trucks (from 96 service manual.) the seat belt switch appears to be part of the retractor mechanism. (something I thought changed with the 98 model year.....) But, as you have the quad cab..... with rear doors that open...... I am not sure where your retractors even mount...... on the seat??

Mine bolts to the seat as well. I have seen a lot of great advice from you on here HeyYou and I don't mean this offensively but you dont know what your talking about on this one. Dodge changed the seat belt control on 2k and up. The 2k1 service manual will not help me. There is an SCTM box that could be the culprit and they did away with it in the 2k and up models. I would like to know if anyone has had luck replacing that module. I have heard of some others having the seat belts permanently locked in the off position and the light on. I only have the light coming on and off, more frequently on than off now.
OK. It is time to lighten up a little bit.....
There is a black box under the front jump seat. It is wired through a connector that comes up from a cut in carpet under the driver seat. Now for waht you may NOT be seeing - there is a wire and connector going form the black box to the seat belt lock. It runs on the inside of the palastic sleeve to the buckle. Chech the connector as I suspect it is loose and breaking connection. It is there - don't believe it? Pull the seat out and turn it over!
I had mine out when I restored interior - so experience...
