Default Annoying Seat Belt light on!

Ill start my truck and 30 seconds later the seat belt light comes on and stays on. Its super annoying and I've checked the wire under the seat and theres no wires going to the buckle. Any suggestions, the dealer wants $83 to just look at it. Any suggestions?
Thanks guys

Put your seat belt on!

There should be wires going to the buckle.

Mine does that when it's really cold out (sub zero). I also find it quite annoying, so I'm interested in any responses.

it happened to mine also when i was stationed up in northern new york. it always stayed on if the temp was really cold as soon as it warmed up it went off normally. i feel it is a common flaw with the sensor

My truck done it too and it didn't matter what the temp was (normally about 35 -40 F or higher here) but I fixed it real good.I looked at it and could not figure out why it wouldn't turn off so I took out the bulb.

I would try cleaning the buckle (part with the release button) real good. Probably use a good amount of brake clean followed with a light spray of some wd-40. this works on an expedition I have that has the door ajar light on when they are all clearly closed. of course I use this procedure on the door latch! but I think the mechanisms and sensors should be similar.

My buckle does the same. After the cab warms up or I reposition in the seat it seems to goes off. I planned to pick up another buckle from the junkyard to swap in, or rebuild mine. And as a last resort, use a tap on the two wires. Im currently tied up with enough other stuff that that is low on my to do list. I still need to finish the led cluster swap (still have to do the hvac controls) and start on the homebrew CAI.

mine comes on and stays on, i think the wires are in the belt tensioner, i pulled the belt out and it goes off, wonder if you can unplug the wires there, it dont really bother me all that much though

Mine will come on every once in a while...what really pisses me off is my air bag light. That damn thing will come on, make it's dinging noise, then turn back off and then proceed to do this 3 or 4 times before just staying on. It's driving me insane. Dealer wants 75 just to scan it I said f*ck that noise.

just leave your seatbelt hooked up all the time and sit on it, that way it looks like your wearing it from behind if the cops see you and the warning lights arent on.
