Looks great purpl! So what did you use as a plate? And as far as these guys on here giving you a hard time (you know who I'm talking about) regarding respect. Well, it doesn't matter if your 15 or 51, in order to get respect you have to give it. I always tell people, "Treat me good and I'll treat you better. Treat me bad and I'll treat you worse!!!" Keep up the good work.
I used a piece of 7075-T651 that my uncle gave me. Then my dad bought me a Porter Cable 6 amp jigsaw for my birthday (but I wont even use it!) and he cut it out. We went through 5 Bosch blades and we are not even done! I'm gonna bring the steel factory plate and aluminum plate to school tommorow and drill the holes out on the drill press. Then I'm gonna ground out the edges with my Dremel. Then we can get the large lot of stuff from RockAuto.com and install the plate along with new hoses, plugs, timing chain, O2 sensor, and belt. Then comes the Harland Sharp 1.7 Roller Rockers!
Exactly right.

As for laughing at the boy at the trade show....... It sure sounds like you are reading way too much into a situation. Someone just walked up to you, started laughing, and then walked away???? Sounds pretty strange. Any chance you misunderstood the situation or, that we were laughing at something else? If you thought we were laughing at you, or if we were....I apologize.
We do not spend all of the time and money and work weekends just to go to a trade show and offend our customers. We are nothing without our customers... we know that. That is why we go to trade show. That is why we offer discounts at trade shows. That is why we usually offer free tech seminars at trade shows. That is why we work through lunches and stay late to be sure and answer the questions of everyone in our booth.
Getting to meet people face to face is the best part of going to the shows. It is much better than just talking on a phone. You can put a face with a name and sometimes actually start a friendship.
As far as our tech support and customer service when you call here.... we feel it is the best in the industry. People who have dealt with some of our competitors tell us every day how nice it is to talk to someone who actually knows the products. We are not order takers. We actually know our products and can help you choose parts and install them. There is always a chance you could get the wrong guy on the wrong day..we are human...sorry. If any of you ever have any trouble with our company, why don't you try e-mailing or calling me and see if I can fix it. Usually posting a note on a forum won't get much done. It is fun for the chatters sitting in their underwear in their mom's basement. But it isn't very productive.
As far as making your own parts. I started out racing stock cars when I was 17. I had to make tons of my own parts because I couldn't afford to buy them. I think you can learn a lot by doing things yourself. Even if it costs more, sometimes the education is worth it. Other times it can actually save you money as long as you have some time to kill. Most things are easy...if you know how to do it and have the tools. (like brain surgery for instance, looks easy on TV, I think I could do that with a hacksaw and a dremel tool). If you don't know how or don't have the tools, it can be a challenge.
Anyway, thats my two cents worth.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Kevin

.
In addition to that, I prefer socket caps.
