You look at it like this. You make 30 bucks an hour. You can pay them for it and you're out 85 bucks.Or you can take 3 hours of your time which would equate to your labor of 90 bucks.Plus time in life is finite.Getting things done quicker costs money.

It looks very similar to the pic you posted. All the cranks, head and everything is exactly the same. Ours has a white body.

But it wont take me 3 hours. I'm thinking I could do it in 1 hour on the Bridgeport. $30 (Labor) + $12 (plenum gasket) + $5 (Bolts and washers) = $47 so far. But you still forget one thing, free time! Not work time!

I guess you can look at it as free time but as you get older you notice time is alot more valuable then money.Time can never be replaced and money can never be taken with you.

So what you are implying is that I shouldnt build my own plate and instead pay some hackshop $86 to send me a 16x7 piece of 1/4'' aluminum. Even some of the wisest guys know that that isnt right. You want to add corners in the wrong places, I'm cutting them at the right places.

Working on trucks (well, anything with wheels) is my passion. I want to do this for the rest of my life. It is my calling and always has. So you could call this very simple, stupid little project a small stepping stone to that eventually leads up to that. With this little project I can ramp up my machining skills, and its fun.

How the time was spent is much more important than how long it took to be spent. If I like what I'm doing, I could care less how long it took, because it amuses me. But if I hate what I am doing, time matters to me, I just wanna get out of there. Like if I stood in line for 4 hours to get an autograph from Dave Hughes (although I doubt there would be a line!) I would be mad as hell! But if I stood in line for 4 hours so I could drive a Plymouth Superbird around Daytona, I'd enjoy every minute of it!

Freeze, I think you are just trying too hard to teach me a lesson or something. I think that is great in all, but after the recent things that have happened between you and me, IDK what to say, but you are doing a ****ty job.

Back to the topic.
