I got the timing cover gasket set, the rear main seal and the oil pan seal. I got a Victor timing gasket set, then when I saw that Fel Pro was metal backed rubber (and not paper) I got that one and plan on returning the Victor set.
I had them order the repair sleeve since the timing gasket set didn't come with one and I'll pick up the water pump and the repair sleeve tomorrow. I forgot about the bypass hose.

Sould I really change that oil pump? I can't recall ever seeing anyone have an oil pump go out on here and mine is working as it should.

And what is the benefit of the double roller timing chain? Car quest has a single roller Cloyes timing set and I almost bought it, but a lot of guys on here opt for double rollers so I didn't.

Dont quote me but when i asked BlueBeast2 about the double roller chain, he said something needed to be drilled...and there wasnt much difference, and he couldnt tell because of other upgrades....

Well if you are tearing out the oil pan why not change the pump...at that price you convinced me to do it, for im doing my "Overhaulin" to my truck the next few weeks, and i was going to drop the pan and clean the pick up tube...but now seeing that im going to get a new pump and rear main so i wont have to worry about it. just my .02 cents

I opted for NAPA's single roller timing set. It looked pretty well made to me and was only like $60 (it was a Cloyes set). Not sure on the difference, besides I think a double roller just rolls nicer? As far as the repair sleeve...I wouldnt beat yourself up over it...I didnt use mine and all is well. I use orange or black RTV..whichever looks nicer to me the day I pull it out of my tool box. Also, I use anti-seze on bolts. Sounds like you have it covered!

Also, beer is good for me! A couple cans of Cope. Not so big on the hash...since its kind of a career killer in the military and ends ya up booted with some nasty paperwork!

I'm still debating the oil pump.
-Re-use the old one since it is fine and they don't tend to go out very often
-Find someone that has one and kick out the 30ish$ for the pump and the 25-30$ for the pickup tube.

if your oil pressure is good - i think its a waste of money to replace the pump.

just be sure you clean out the pickup screen, reprime the pump, and that when you reinstall the pump - the drive shaft is engaged and the pump sits flat on its mounting surface. its possible to get it cockeyed, and then it breaks when you tighten it down.

always use ultra black. bright blue and orange looks stupid.

Thanks for the confirmation, now I don't have to place 1000 calls tomorrow to find a pump within 50 miles.
Have you broken an oil pump before or did you read it somewhere?
