Default Grinding noise in front,NOT WHEEL BEARINGS

So after i spent all sunday mudding, on my way home i had a squeek in the front end. It progresivly got louder untill finally its now grinding. I just replaced the wheel bearings, but my axle joints wear clicking pretty loud. Also the front drive drive shaft will turn, in park like 1/4 turn. Could the axle joints be making grinding and squeeking. Also is that drive shft supposed to turn that much. It makes that noise as soon as i start rolling. Thanks guys

easy solution but it happened to me on my last truck, I had a stone stuck between my caliper and my rim and it was grinding into my rim it was a violent metal sounding squeel at the time I thought it was my wheel bearing which was on its way out but later found the scoring on the inside of the rim (3 week old rims!!)

Assuming the truck was in 2wd, the front drive shaft turning is normal.

Yes, it was in 2wd. Im convinced its the axle joints, cause they go all the time.

I had almost the same thing happen too after mudding, actually the same time I bent my steering damper and couldn't turn to the right.... I thought I had a bearing going bad, but I found a rock wedged between the rotor and backing plate. It had stayed in there for a week almost too by the time I found it...

ok, well there is now oil dripping from the steering dampener, its pretty much jink, but would it cause a grinding noise?

IF it were coming from the damper, it would only do it while turning the wheel back and forth, not while only moving forward.... but I don't think it would make any grinding noises...

Jack up the front end, and spin the wheels, one at a time, see if you hear anything. If you do... find out where it is coming from.

Even easier way to check for bad axle joints, hold both sets of yokes with both hands, and twist you hands in different directions, if they're is any play, its probably time to do an axle joint.
