Default New Truck Owner, 1997 Dodge Ram

hello all. i just picked up a 1997 dodge ram sport. my first truck ever. its got 66K miles on it. both previous owners were navy and never drove it. it seems to be in decent shape. i know nothing about domestics or trucks. ive been an import guy having owned 2 honda preludes, 1 acura integra and 1 audi a4. ive been reading the forums non stop for the last 3-4 days, soaking up all i can. im having it looked over today. its got the 5.2 v8. i dont have too many plans for it. just probably a 3 inch body lift and some 33s or 35s. im hoping to have it cleaned up nicely today heres a couple pictures :

the worst part is the roof. the roof is not well haha. the hood could be better. im going to try and get it looking a little bit better today.

Mine has rust...... Bottoms of the doors. Rocker panels. Wheel openings on the bed..... assorted dents and scrapes. The one that runs all across the hood, and down the drivers door is my personal favorite. Was stopped at an intersection, where they were doing some utility work, and a cable snapped...... left a really cool scar on the truck. Technically, the utility company should pay to have that repaired.... don't know if I am going to worry about it or not.
